Development Manager – Major Gifts

About the role

OpenMinds Lebanon is seeking a Development Manager to lead its major‑gift fundraising efforts across Lebanon and the wider region. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, the role will design and execute strategies that grow philanthropic support for medical treatment, research, endowments and other strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify fundraising priorities in collaboration with the Vice President for Advancement and develop comprehensive plans to achieve them.
• Design and implement a revenue‑generation strategy that includes sponsored projects, grants, corporate partnerships and major gifts.
• Research, cultivate, solicit and steward new and existing donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies.
• Manage a portfolio of at least 250 prospects, overseeing the full donor lifecycle from acquisition to stewardship.
• Create and execute the FY2027 fundraising plan approved by the Board, covering donor acquisition, prospect research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
• Support the planning and execution of capital campaigns and the development of annual giving programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in major‑gift fundraising within a nonprofit or charitable organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a large donor portfolio and achieve high‑value gifts (up to $500,000 or more).
• Strong understanding of diversified revenue streams, including grants, corporate sponsorships and endowments.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with donors, board members and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior leadership to meet strategic goals.
