Data Specialist – Business Insights & Reporting

About the role

The Data Specialist is responsible for turning raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic reporting. You will collaborate with Technology, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Commercial and other departments to deliver accurate, timely, and user‑friendly data products.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, validate, consolidate and analyse data from multiple systems and databases.
• Produce daily, weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc reports for management and business stakeholders.
• Identify trends, gaps and anomalies, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Design, build and maintain dashboards using Power BI, SSRS, Excel or similar tools.
• Develop, validate and monitor KPIs that reflect business performance and operational efficiency.
• Automate recurring reports to reduce manual effort.
• Validate data accuracy, investigate inconsistencies and support data‑governance initiatives.
• Document data sources, formulas, report structures and support the rollout of new analytics tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate insights effectively.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts).
• Power BI or comparable Business Intelligence tools.
• SQL querying for data extraction and manipulation.
• Data visualization and dashboard development.
• Data cleaning and transformation techniques.
