DevOps Engineer – Cloud‑Native SaaS Platform Operations

About the role

BigHand is transforming into a cloud‑native, AI‑enabled SaaS organisation. As a Platform Operations Engineer you will sit at the centre of this journey, modernising the platform and strengthening cloud, operational and security capabilities for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate highly available SaaS platforms, supporting cloud migration, containerisation with Kubernetes and Docker, and modern PaaS/IaaS architectures.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation tooling to standardise, secure and scale deployments.
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Architecture teams to deliver secure, cost‑effective cloud platforms aligned with business goals.
• Lead platform operations including incident management, observability, patching, upgrades and continuous service improvement.
• Embed security and compliance best practices such as OWASP, ISO27001 and SOC2 across the platform.
• Contribute to ongoing innovation by improving processes, documentation and platform standards.

Required profile

• Any cloud background (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure or Software Engineering.
• Expert scripting skills, preferably PowerShell and Bash.
• Strong experience with container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, secure development lifecycle, cryptography and vulnerability management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate.
