Cloud Solutions Architect

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) seeks an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to guide the migration of on‑premises applications to Microsoft Azure. Working onsite at the UN‑House ESCWA, you will collaborate closely with development and infrastructure teams to assess workloads and design optimal cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing applications hosted on Proxmox VMs, gather technical requirements, and establish baseline performance metrics.
• Design Azure architecture blueprints and migration runbooks, recommending IaaS or PaaS approaches such as Azure App Services, Azure SQL, or container instances.
• Conduct cost‑benefit analyses, right‑size Azure resources, and propose reserved‑instance strategies for cost efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance on Azure AD/Entra ID identity mapping, security baselines, and monitoring setup using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in cloud architecture, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven ability to work with software development teams to translate performance requirements into cloud designs.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
