Clinical Psychologist – National Post, Beirut

About the role

Relief International is recruiting a Clinical Psychologist for its National Post in Beirut, Lebanon. The psychologist provides specialized mental health services within RI-supported Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) and PHC Satellite Units (PSUs) as part of an integrated health and nutrition response. The role covers assessment, treatment planning, follow-up, psychoeducation, group interventions and safe referrals for host community members, refugees, IDPs, PLWs, children and adolescents, persons with disabilities, survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, NCD patients and other vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mental health consultations and psychological first aid, and conduct clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress monitoring and risk follow-up, including suicide or self-harm risk.
• Refer severe, complex or P2 cases to the psychiatrist or specialized services and follow up on internal and external referrals.
• Deliver individual and family interventions and psychoeducation for depression, anxiety, PTSD and crisis-related distress, and run group sessions using approved curricula or WHO's PM+ or SH+ frameworks.
• Provide crisis intervention and refer to protection, S/GBV, CP or other services when needed.
• Support the Mental Health Supervisor in coaching PHCC staff on PFA, safe identification and referral, active listening and basic counselling, and mentor teams on confidentiality and documentation.
• Carry out home visits, PSU-based support or remote follow-up, and conduct PSU and community field visits to shelters and host communities.
• Maintain confidentiality, informed consent, ethical practice and accurate documentation, and report safeguarding, protection or ethical concerns through RI channels.
