About the role
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) leads the Security and Safety Section (SSS) of ESCWA, ensuring the safety of staff, programmes and assets. The CSO reports directly to the Executive Secretary and works under the technical supervision of the Director of the Division of Headquarters Security and Safety Services (DHSSS) at UNDSS in New York.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Security and Safety Section (SSS) of ESCWA.
- Report directly to the Executive Secretary on security matters.
- Operate under the overall technical supervision of the Director, DHSSS, United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS).
- Provide leadership, operational support and oversight of the UN security management system to enable safe and efficient programme delivery.
Required profile
- Must be able to work under the technical supervision of the Director, DHSSS, UNDSS.
- Must report directly to the Executive Secretary of ESCWA.
