Business Development Manager – Africa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Business Development Manager – Africa to lead the company’s expansion into African markets. The role involves identifying, developing and establishing new business opportunities for our furniture and mattress products across the continent, building long‑term partnerships and creating sustainable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• African Market Development – research and evaluate attractive markets, develop entry strategies and monitor trends.
• New Business Development – approach distributors, dealers, retailers and corporate clients, build pipelines and negotiate agreements.
• Furniture & Mattress Market Expansion – promote product portfolio, identify new product opportunities and relay market feedback.
• International Travel & Field Development – travel extensively across African countries, visit partners and represent the company at trade events.
• Strategic Partnerships – develop long‑term relationships with key distributors, evaluate joint‑venture opportunities and build a reliable network.
• Business Planning & Reporting – prepare market plans, forecasts and regular reports for top management.

Required profile

• 5+ years of proven experience in business development, international or export sales.
• Strong practical experience and network in African markets, preferably with knowledge of distributors, retailers and importers.
• Experience in the furniture, mattress or home‑furnishings industry is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to open new markets and develop business from zero.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Africa.
• Fluent English; French and/or Arabic are a plus.
