Backend Tech Lead (Python)

About the role

On behalf of our client, a leading financial services company, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Backend Tech Lead (Python) to join the team. The role involves leading backend development, designing micro‑services, and ensuring high‑quality, secure software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop new features and products.
• Define technical specifications, choose appropriate technologies, and ensure coding standards.
• Implement unit and integration tests and guarantee software quality, security, and extensibility.
• Participate in code reviews, identify anti‑patterns, and drive refactoring.
• Lead the design and delivery of micro‑services and containerised applications.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 4+ years of professional Python development experience.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Technical Lead.
• Strong technical mindset with great attention to detail.
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles and SDLC processes.
• Experience with service‑oriented architecture (SOA).

Required skills

• Python (primary language).
• PHP (advantage).
• Software design and architecture.
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• RabbitMQ, Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Micro‑services development and containerisation.
• WebSockets.
• Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm (IaC).
• Git, Jenkins (CI/CD).
• Web security standards and best practices.
