Accounts Payable Accountant (Byblos Campus)

About the role

The Finance Operations Department’s Payables & Disbursements Unit is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join the Byblos campus team. Reporting to the Comptroller, the incumbent will ensure accurate and timely processing of all payable transactions and related journal entries.

Key responsibilities

• Receive supplier invoices, verify supporting documents and purchase orders.
• Enter invoices into the Oracle financial system, posting to correct accounts and cost centers.
• Prepare and execute supplier payments via checks, wire transfers, or other methods.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of payable accounts against the general ledger and supplier statements.
• Generate periodic accounts‑payable reports and communicate status to the supervisor.
• Maintain secure filing of all documents and provide backup support to office staff as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum three years of relevant accounts‑payable experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and analytical abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience with Oracle financial system.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms; knowledge of Banner is a plus.
