Accountability and Safeguarding Officer (part-time)

About the role

The Accountability and Safeguarding Officer supports project teams in delivering high‑quality humanitarian programmes while ensuring transparent and constructive communication with beneficiaries and community members. Working under the Accountability and Safeguarding Coordinator, the officer acts as the main point of contact for complaints, feedback and safeguarding concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log calls on the organisation’s hotline during designated hours, documenting each interaction in the complaints and feedback database.
• Collect referrals, requests and feedback from field staff and record them accurately.
• Attend field events such as trainings, distributions and workshops to gather feedback directly from participants.
• Alert the Coordinator of any major complaints or reportable incidents promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary information and update the feedback system regularly.
• Coordinate referrals to partner organisations using established referral tools (e.g., RIMS, RAIS) and track them.
• Support dissemination of accountability and safeguarding information to partners and service providers.

Required profile

• Experience working in humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in accountability or safeguarding functions.
• Strong understanding of complaint handling, feedback mechanisms and safeguarding principles.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with field teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data entry and database management for complaints/feedback systems.
