Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the role

Liaison is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test suites for its education‑technology platforms. You will work closely with developers, QA teammates, and product managers to ensure high‑quality, reliable software in a fast‑paced, Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web, API, and mobile applications using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or Appium.
• Collaborate with QA engineers, developers, and product managers to guarantee adequate test coverage for new and existing features.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand‑ups, sprint reviews) to understand product requirements and testing needs.
• Identify, document, and track software defects with clear, reproducible steps.
• Perform regression, functional, and exploratory testing using both automation and manual approaches as needed.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of automation frameworks and QA processes.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to support continuous delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on software testing and automation experience.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted automation tools (e.g., Cursor).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, QA best practices, and Agile development processes.

Required skills

• Programming/scripting languages: TypeScript, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#.
• Test automation tools: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium.
• API testing tools: Postman, RestAssured.
• Version control and CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• AI automation assistance: Cursor.
• Performance testing tools (preferred): JMeter, Gatling, Locust.
• Cloud platforms (preferred): AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• Containerization (preferred): Docker, Kubernetes.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification (preferred).
