Public Health Engineer Assistant – South Lebanon

About the role

This position is part of Oxfam’s integrated humanitarian programme in South Lebanon. The role combines public health engineering and hygiene promotion within the WASH component to deliver comprehensive water, sanitation and hygiene assistance to vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor water supply and sanitation solutions in field settings.
• Support community‑based hygiene promotion activities and ensure uptake of safe practices.
• Conduct daily field visits, engage with local stakeholders and gather feedback.
• Coordinate with the wider WASH team and other humanitarian partners.
• Prepare regular reports on engineering interventions and community engagement.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or a related qualification.
• Minimum of one year experience working with an INGO, NGO, UN agency or similar organization.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with flexibility to operate in demanding environments.
• Commitment to Oxfam’s mission, feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion.
