About the role
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Project Associate to support the implementation of Lebanon’s NDC 3.0. The role focuses on strengthening climate‑policy implementation, financing strategies, and integrating gender considerations across mitigation, adaptation, and legal instruments.
Key responsibilities
- Provide gender research and analysis support for the project.
- Review and update the project’s Gender Action Plan annually, incorporating emerging needs and lessons learned.
- Monitor progress on gender‑related actions and report findings.
- Contribute to the development of the NDC implementation plan and financing strategy.
- Mainstream gender considerations across mitigation and adaptation policies, financing mechanisms, and legal instruments.
- Assist in drafting a climate‑change law and communication strategy.
- Coordinate with the Lebanese Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders.
- Prepare regular reports and documentation for the Green Climate Fund and UNDP.
Required profile
- University degree in gender studies, environmental policy, climate change, development studies or a related field.
- Experience in gender analysis, climate‑policy or project coordination.
- Knowledge of UN development frameworks and the Paris Agreement NDC process.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
