Protection Case Worker – Gender-Based Violence

About the role

The Protection Case Worker (GBV) provides direct, survivor‑centered case management and psychosocial support to vulnerable women and adolescent girls in Beirut and the Mount Lebanon Governorate. Working from community‑based safe spaces, the role contributes to the IRC’s Violence Prevention and Response programme and helps strengthen protection outcomes for at‑risk populations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual case management services, including counseling, needs assessment, safety planning and follow‑up referrals.
• Facilitate emotional support groups and age‑appropriate psychosocial activities for women and adolescent girls.
• Provide emergency cash assistance where assessments deem it necessary.
• Register participants, monitor attendance and evaluate the impact of structured psychosocial sessions.
• Ensure all interventions adhere to “Do No Harm” principles and survivor‑centered decision‑making.
• Close cases upon completion of support and document outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience working with gender‑based violence survivors or in humanitarian protection programmes.
• Strong understanding of case management, psychosocial support and safety planning.
• Ability to work sensitively with diverse cultural groups and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
