National Programme Officer (Immigration and Border Governance)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Programme Officer to support its Immigration and Border Governance (IBG) Programme in Lebanon. Reporting to the Programme Manager (IBG) and under the overall guidance of the Head of Programmes, the officer will help implement projects that strengthen Lebanon’s border management, migrant regularisation and related capacities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and monitoring operational, administrative and financial aspects of the IBG project in line with IOM policies, donor requirements and Lebanese regulations.
• Maintain liaison with key governmental bodies—including the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, General Security Directorate, Internal Security Forces, Civil Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and the Lebanese Armed Forces—to facilitate programme implementation.
• Support the planning and delivery of capacity‑building activities for Lebanese authorities, working closely with internal units and external partners.
• Provide regular updates to the supervisor on project status, identify implementation challenges and propose corrective actions.
