Maintenance Engineer – Diesel Generators

About the role

METS Energy is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer specialized in diesel generators. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of generator systems through advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair activities, while also providing technical support for projects and client interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in diesel generators using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections.
• Repair or replace defective components such as pumps, valves, bearings, and electrical parts.
• Conduct engine overhauls and maintain fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
• Execute testing, calibration, and load tests to verify optimal generator performance.
• Carry out routine inspections to detect potential failures and ensure continuous operation.
• Coordinate with After‑Sales Service teams to resolve technical issues and customer complaints.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical support to clients as needed.
• Assist in analyzing project requirements, preparing BOQs, cost estimations, and technical proposals.
• Review and contribute to technical drawings and coordinate with factory teams during assembly and testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience in diesel generator maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generator systems, control panels, and electrical components.
• Experience with engine overhauls, diagnostics, and load testing.
• Ability to work in both field and workshop environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and client‑facing capability.
