IT Infrastructure Technician

About the role

The IT Infrastructure Technician will maintain and support the physical voice, data and video network infrastructures across the Beirut campus and affiliated sites. Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, the role ensures reliable connectivity for staff, students, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and maintain structured cabling (UTP, fiber optics, coaxial) for voice, video and data networks.
• Set up and service telephone sets, faxes, PCs, TVs, and video‑conferencing equipment.
• Troubleshoot cable‑plant issues and coordinate repairs with operations staff and external contractors.
• Install equipment in server and telecom cabinets and perform routine maintenance in telecom rooms and data centers.
• Assist with basic switch troubleshooting, wireless access‑point deployment, and Cisco Call Manager operations.
• Monitor MPT telephone lines, UPS availability, and perform minor repairs on telecom equipment.
• Document cable‑plant changes, maintain inventory of switches and phones, and support smart‑classroom technology.
• Log and track user incidents and service requests, providing backup support as needed.

Required profile

• Technical Baccalaureate (BT3) in electronics, computers or related field; TS is a plus.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in telecommunications or network infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of current telecom and network equipment, software and cabling standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly in English.
• Physical fitness to work in environments with dust, noise and varying conditions.
