Engineering Lab Supervisor

About the role

The School of Engineering's Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering seeks an Engineering Lab Supervisor to manage daily laboratory operations on the Byblos campus, with occasional duties at the Beirut campus. The role ensures labs run safely, efficiently, and support teaching and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and set up lab stations, calibrate instruments, and verify readiness before each session.
• Perform routine pre‑testing of equipment to confirm accuracy and functionality.
• Coordinate with instructors, faculty, and the department chair to deliver smooth lab sessions.
• Provide technical assistance to students and faculty during labs, projects, and research.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and liaise with vendors or maintenance teams.
• Maintain lab equipment, tools, inventory, and documentation of manuals and warranties.
• Prepare requisition orders and specifications for equipment upgrades.
• Enforce safety procedures and report incidents according to university standards.
• Support academic assessments, summer camps, orientation activities, and lab tours for visitors.
• Offer backup support to other engineering labs as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in laboratory supervision or technical engineering roles.
• Proven ability to manage lab operations, inventory, and safety compliance.

Required skills

• Experience with engineering lab equipment and measurement tools.
• Proficiency in instrumentation and related software.
• Advanced computer skills.
