Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with local regulations. This senior position requires a strong grasp of accounting principles and the ability to align financial practices with the organization’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Audit purchase invoices and analyze item costs.
• Review salaries, prepare bank transfers, and coordinate with external auditors for payroll, NSFF, and tax preparation.
• Supervise daily finance and accounts operations, ensuring proper financial controls.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of all financial transactions and checks.
• Prepare supplier reconciliations, conduct monthly physical inventory counts, and generate financial and budget execution reports.
• Lead year‑end and quarterly closing processes.
• Provide exchange‑rate information for foreign currency transactions.
• Monitor and improve accounting department performance and internal processes.
• Collaborate with external auditors for annual audits and perform administrative tasks such as filing and report preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Fluent communication skills in Arabic, English, and French.
• Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team.
• Strong integrity, ethical standards, and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience using ERP systems and various accounting software.
• Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet tools for financial analysis.
