Cashier Supervisor – Retail Operations

About the role

We are looking for a professional and organized Cashier Supervisor to lead our checkout team in Mozambique. The role involves overseeing daily cashier operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate cash handling procedures within a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of cashiers, ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Train and mentor new cashiers, providing ongoing support and guidance.
• Monitor cash drawer balances and conduct regular audits for accuracy.
• Resolve customer complaints and handle complex transaction issues.
• Assist in implementing loss‑prevention strategies and inventory control measures.
• Collaborate with management to optimize cashier scheduling and workflow.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Perform cash office duties, including preparing bank deposits and reconciling daily sales.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of cashier experience with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, team‑management, and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic math proficiency and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lb.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
