Accounting & Auditing Consultant – Abidjan

About the role

The Chief Accountant / Auditor will lead the structuring, review and continuous improvement of client accounting functions in Abidjan. You will work directly with client teams to implement robust accounting frameworks, ensure compliance and provide clear financial visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee accounting structuring and review engagements for client entities.
• Design and implement accounting frameworks, chart of accounts, policies, procedures and internal controls aligned with best practices.
• Conduct periodic (monthly/quarterly) accounting reviews to validate records and identify gaps.
• Assess existing accounting processes, systems and control environments and drive practical improvements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements and statutory regulations.
• Support clients in setting up and optimizing accounting systems, mapping transactions and establishing reporting structures.
• Provide structured reports, reconciliations and executive summaries highlighting key risks and findings.
• Advise management on accounting implications of business decisions.
• Supervise, mentor and support client accounting staff and deliver hands‑on training.
• Contribute to the development and standardisation of SD Group accounting methodologies across projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred).
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and auditing, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing audit engagements and delivering financial advisory.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and auditing standards (e.g., ISA).
• Expertise in designing internal control structures and chart of accounts.
