Senior Mechanical Site Engineer – Africa

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Site Engineer will lead the execution, supervision and installation of mechanical systems—including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection—across construction sites in Africa. The role ensures that all works follow approved drawings, specifications and project schedules while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise on‑site installation of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate daily site activities, manpower, materials and equipment to meet project timelines.
• Liaise with electrical, civil and architectural teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct inspections, prepare inspection requests and ensure compliance with specifications, standards and local codes.
• Assist in testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.
• Maintain daily progress reports, material tracking, as‑built drawings and issue logs.
• Promote HSE compliance, conduct toolbox talks and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP construction or site execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven ability to manage site teams and coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Experience with testing and commissioning is a plus.
