About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Lebanon seeks a Senior Legal Expert to provide technical support for the Justice Forum, a multi‑stakeholder initiative aimed at reforming the country’s justice sector. The role is primarily home‑based with occasional on‑site activities in Beirut.

Key responsibilities

Provide technical support on draft laws governing the independence of the judiciary (both judicial and administrative).
Offer expert assistance to review and update the draft law on judicial independence.
Support the multi‑stakeholder Justice Forum process, contributing to the assessment of challenges and the development of a national reform roadmap.
Assist in establishing a monitoring and follow‑up mechanism for the reform roadmap.

Required profile

Senior‑level legal professional with extensive experience in justice sector reform.
Demonstrated knowledge of Lebanese judicial structures and legislation.
Ability to work under the guidance of the Rule of Law and Governance Chief Technical Advisor.
