Research & Project Assistant – Digital Development & Cooperation

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) seeks a consultant to provide research, coordination, documentation and operational support for its Digital Development and Digital Cooperation initiatives, including major workshops and high‑level forums.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver and follow‑up on IGM 6.0 and DCDF 3.0 events, including agendas, invitations, speaker coordination and briefing materials.
• Support the Tunisia national workshop and regional expert group meetings, handling concept notes, participant coordination and documentation.
• Coordinate inputs, timelines and clearances with ESCWA units, member countries and regional partners.
• Assist in desk research, stakeholder consultations and drafting for ADA 2.0, ADDR 3.0 and NDDRs 3.0, including statistical tables and visual aids.
• Maintain integrated delivery trackers, progress updates and final hand‑over packages.
• Contribute to global and regional processes such as WSIS+20 follow‑up, GDC matrices and observatory maintenance.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, economics, ICT policy or related field.
• Proven experience in research, documentation and project coordination within international or UN‑type environments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
