MHPSS and Protection Coordinator

About the role

The MHPSS and Protection Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies for mental health, psychosocial support and protection programmes in Lebanon, ensuring quality across design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt operational strategies for MHPSS and Protection based on contextual analysis and identified needs.
• Provide technical support to technical and programme teams, ensuring programme quality through field visits, data analysis and regular check‑ins.
• Represent PUI to authorities, donors, humanitarian actors and in relevant cluster or working group meetings.
• Support recruitment, capacity building and training plans for MHPSS and Protection staff, including clinical supervision of psychologists.
• Ensure logistical, administrative and security compliance for teams under your responsibility.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in psychology, psychiatry, mental health or a related field.
• At least 3 years experience implementing MHPSS programmes, minimum 2 years clinical practice, and 3 years managing protection programmes.
• Strong understanding of global protection and GBV principles, IASC guidelines and relevant international law.
• Previous experience with NGOs in humanitarian or development settings, preferably with crisis‑affected populations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IASC Guidelines on MHPSS in Emergency Settings and the MHPSS intervention pyramid.
• Familiarity with IASC Guidelines on GBV in Emergency, Protection and Gender in Humanitarian Action.
• Competence in designing and monitoring psychosocial, psychological and protection interventions, including referral systems and stepped‑care approaches.

• Fixed‑term executive contract (6 months, renewable).
• Monthly gross salary €2,650 – €2,970 depending on experience.
