Mental Health Technical Advisor – Service Agreement

About the role

The Mental Health Technical Advisor will provide independent, consultative support to Relief International’s mental health team in Beirut. Working twice a month for up to two hours per session, the advisor will deliver expertise either online or in person, focusing on complex, high‑risk cases and strengthening clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Offer specialist clinical consultation on severe mental health conditions, suicide risk, and protection‑related concerns.
• Facilitate anonymised multidisciplinary case‑consultation sessions with case managers, psychologists, and psychiatrists.
• Advise on evidence‑based, patient‑centred practices, including mhGAP‑informed care, family‑centered and recovery‑oriented approaches.
• Support professional development through reflective practice, role‑plays, simulations and technical sessions on trauma‑informed care, CBT, NET, case formulation and risk assessment.
• Prepare a concise monthly advisory note summarising support provided, technical themes, learning needs and follow‑up topics, without any identifiable beneficiary information.

Required profile

• Qualified mental health professional with extensive experience in clinical consultation and case management.
• Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Familiarity with humanitarian contexts and protection‑sensitive referrals.
