Manager, Strategy & Transactions - Financial Services (Beirut)

About the role

EY is looking for a Manager to join its Valuation and Modelling and Economics practice, focused on the Financial Services sector (Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, and Wealth and Asset Management). The role sits within the Strategy and Transactions practice, which advises clients on transaction and non-transaction decisions such as strategic planning, value creation, feasibility studies, business planning, financial reporting and market valuation.

Key responsibilities

• Understand clients' key business drivers and co-develop the approach with them, agreeing on value measurements
• Support Financial Services clients in defining strategic objectives and priorities through strategic analysis work leading to transaction execution
• Plan, prepare and review deliverables such as Excel data books, written reports, presentations and client discussions
• Identify opportunities to sell additional services to clients

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or business
• At least 8 years of related business valuation work experience
• Previous valuation experience in professional services or Big 4 firms is ideal
• Significant progress towards a CFA is ideal
• Solution-driven, analytical and detail-oriented, able to adapt to changing requirements and deadlines

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of valuation methodologies, market assessment and sizing, feasibility and business plans, operating and commercial models, financial analysis, capital allocation, cost and portfolio optimization
• Financial modelling, including building models from scratch
• Understanding of financial services institutions' balance sheets and operating models
• IFRS standards on fair value measurements, business combinations and impairment testing
• Excellent business development skills (ideal)
