Gym Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Gym Maintenance Technician ensures that all gym facilities, equipment, and utilities are safe, functional, and well‑maintained. By performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to technical issues, the technician directly supports a positive member experience and smooth gym operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of gym equipment, lighting, and electrical systems using checklists.
• Perform minor repairs, adjustments, installations, and assembly of new machines and furniture.
• Follow a scheduled preventive‑maintenance plan to minimise equipment downtime, lubricate, tighten, and test machines regularly.
• Record all maintenance activities in a logbook and report major or recurring faults to management.
• Support safety of locker rooms, showers, and training areas, and respond promptly to facility‑related complaints.
• Ensure all work complies with health‑and‑safety standards, wear protective gear, and report hazards immediately.

• Strong problem‑solving skills to identify issues and apply practical solutions quickly.
• Team‑oriented, able to collaborate with trainers, staff, and management.
