General Coordinator (Head of Mission) – Lebanon

About the role

Médecins du Monde is seeking a senior leader to head its Lebanon mission. The General Coordinator will oversee all operational, advocacy, and fundraising activities across Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and Hermel, while preparing assessments for the south.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, manage and motivate a multidisciplinary mission team.
• Define operational and advocacy strategies together with the coordination team and desk manager.
• Plan, monitor and adjust activities, providing technical support as needed.
• Represent MdM with authorities, partners, donors and the media.
• Oversee partnership agreements, develop new collaborations and lead fundraising efforts.
• Ensure financial coverage through budget management and donor reporting.
• Draft, adapt and enforce safety regulations, coordinate crisis management.
• Implement MdM’s programmatic framework, policies and procedures.
• Supervise reporting to MdM headquarters and donors.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior roles within international NGOs (head of mission, deputy head, field coordinator).
• Proven track record in emergency response and humanitarian operations.
• Strong leadership, team‑building and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Experience managing budgets, fundraising and donor relations.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French and Arabic is an asset.
