Fuel Assistant – UNIFIL Logistics Support

About the role

The Fuel Assistant will support UNIFIL’s Life Support Section in Naqoura, reporting to the Fuel Officer. The role involves managing fuel, oil and lubricants (POL) inventories, budgets, contracts and quality assurance for mission operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify data for budget preparation and audit responses.
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of fuel receipts and issues.
• Monitor fuel consumption, analyze historical usage and ensure strategic reserves are maintained.
• Manage POL requisitions, purchase orders, payment verification and inventory adjustments.
• Implement internal control systems, maintain audit trails and ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental guidelines.
• Oversee contract performance, KPI reporting and resolve contractual issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational certificate in fuel/petroleum disciplines is desirable.
• At least eight years of progressive experience in fuel operations, contract administration, quality assurance and electronic fuel management systems.
• Professionalism, teamwork, planning and client‑orientation competencies as described in the posting.
• Fluency in English (UN Level II); Arabic is desirable.
