Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the Lebanon Country Office in delivering accurate and timely financial operations. This includes processing payments, managing petty cash, handling banking activities, and maintaining comprehensive financial records in line with Save the Children International policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process beneficiary and supplier payments for the Country Office and Area Offices following SCI procedures.
• Handle NSSF and income‑tax payments, ensuring proper documentation and timely completion.
• Prepare journal entries and other required financial adjustments.
• Manage USD and LBP petty‑cash transactions, request replenishments, and ensure accurate recording.
• Maintain organized financial records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with SCI retention requirements.
• Act as the focal point for banking matters, liaising with banks and maintaining banking documentation.
• Review and reconcile supplier statements, follow up on discrepancies.
• Support travel and staff program advances, and follow up on missing signatures or documentation.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
• Very good written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Ability to work flexibly, including during humanitarian emergencies.
