Field Officer – Lebanon Emergency Response

About the role

Catholic Relief Services is seeking a Field Officer to support its emergency response programme in Lebanon. The role involves close collaboration with local partners and communities to ensure project activities are delivered effectively and meet the needs of vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular field visits to monitor partner‑led activities such as shelter rehabilitation, NFI distributions, livelihoods, cash‑for‑shelter and WASH upgrades.
• Document progress against targets, flag deviations, bottlenecks or risks, and report them to the Project Manager.
• Facilitate communication and information sharing among the project team, implementing partners and beneficiaries at the community level.
• Capture community feedback and channel it to the MEAL focal point for timely action.
• Represent the project at sub‑national coordination forums, including governorate‑level meetings and sector working groups.
• Mobilise community stakeholders, including leaders and local government representatives, to ensure inclusive implementation.
• Identify capacity‑building needs of partners and support data compilation for reporting.
• Monitor adherence to Safe and Dignified Programming principles and report concerns.
• Contribute to project learning by documenting good practices and adaptive decisions.
• Provide flexible support during emergency surges and perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of field experience in humanitarian or development programmes.
