Consultant – Financial Systems Review, Benchmarking & Alignment

About the role

The Lebanese Red Cross, supported by IFRC, seeks an experienced consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of its financial systems, benchmark them against international and Movement standards, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen financial governance under the One Program Approach.

Key responsibilities

• Review LRC finance & accounting policies, procedures, and tools, assessing alignment with best international standards and donor requirements.
• Update and validate the existing mapping of partner National Societies’ financial systems, categorising partners by alignment level.
• Conduct comparative analysis of LRC, partners, and international standards, identifying gaps, root causes and enabling factors.
• Provide a detailed recommendations matrix with priority actions for LRC and its partners.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in financial assessments, audits, system strengthening or comparable consultancy work.
• Strong knowledge of current international financial standards, donor compliance frameworks and Red Cross/Red Crescent financial practices.
