Community Mobilizer – Legal Information and Awareness

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking two Community Mobilizers to raise legal awareness among refugee and host‑community members in Lebanon. Mobilizers are community‑based individuals who, after receiving specific legal training, will empower people to understand and exercise their rights, contributing to improved social and economic wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Attend capacity‑building trainings provided by DRC.
• Deliver individual and group information sessions on prioritized legal topics.
• Raise awareness of justice structures and guide community members on how to access them.
• Identify cases requiring further legal assistance and refer them to DRC legal staff.
• Maintain and disseminate service‑mapping and referral pathways at community level.
• Report protection concerns (child protection, GBV, GP) to relevant DRC staff.
• Distribute DRC service leaflets and promote the Complaint Feedback Mechanism.

Required profile

• Member of the local community, not a licensed lawyer.
• Motivated to support vulnerable populations and willing to volunteer.
• Good communication skills and ability to conduct awareness sessions.
• Willingness to follow DRC procedures and referral protocols.

Required skills

• Basic legal knowledge acquired through DRC training.
• Ability to use service‑mapping tools for referrals.
• Understanding of protection risk indicators (CP, GBV, GP).
