Chief Accountant

About the role

CIS Group, an ICT company based in Jal El Dib, Lebanon, is looking for an ambitious and motivated Chief Accountant to join its team. The role covers supervision of accounting operations, reporting, tax filings and oversight of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all accounting operations: journal entries, payables, receivables and bank reconciliations
• Reconcile all sub-ledgers (banks, suppliers, clients, inventory, etc.)
• Prepare closing reports and ensure accruals, adjustments and provisions are made (e.g. end-of-service indemnity, currency revaluation)
• Prepare internal management reports such as P&L by department/product and cost center tracking
• Assist in preparing and reviewing annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Ensure timely and correct filing of VAT, salary tax, income tax on profits, non-resident tax declaration and NSSFM
• Maintain the fixed asset register, oversee depreciation schedules, and monitor asset disposal, impairment or revaluation
• Prepare documents and schedules for external auditors
• Supervise junior accountants and clerks, review and approve their work, provide training and ensure accounting policies are followed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation and financial regulations
• Excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills, with high integrity and attention to detail
• Fluent in English, French and Arabic
