Associate Programme Officer – Finance & Budget

About the role

The Associate Programme Officer (Finance and Budget) will be based in Beirut, Lebanon, supporting the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime’s Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa. Reporting to the National Programme Coordinator in Lebanon and the Regional Programme Coordinator in Tunisia, the incumbent will contribute to the financial management of UNODC programmes in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the National Programme Coordinator and the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Regional Programme Coordinator with finance and budget matters.
• Collaborate closely with other operations areas, the programmes section and programme teams across ROMENA.
• Provide support to the UNODC Administrative and Finance Officer (Operations Manager) in the Operations Area.
• Support the planning, preparation and monitoring of budgets for UNODC programmes.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in finance, economics, public administration or a related field.
• Experience working in an international or development context is desirable.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and coordinate with teams in different countries.
