Assistant Store Manager – Retail

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering excellent customer service, driving sales, and maintaining an attractive, well‑organized retail environment. This role combines staff training, inventory oversight, and operational duties to ensure the store meets performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Train and coach store staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.
• Develop and deliver new service training sessions and update orientation materials.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards, including window displays and floor showcases.
• Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and anticipate customer demand.
• Process sales transactions, handle returns, and resolve customer disputes.
• Prepare sales and customer‑relation reports, analyze shift performance, and troubleshoot daily close‑out issues.
• Conduct competitive store visits to gather pricing and product information.
• Provide shift coverage and act as key holder, stepping in for the Store Manager when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail operations or store management.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.

• Capable of handling cash, banking, and daily financial procedures.
