Agriculture Machinery Expert – Tender Development and Technical Evaluation

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking an Agriculture Machinery Expert to support the Food Security Project in Lebanon. The consultant will assist the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) in developing tender documents and conducting technical evaluations for agricultural machinery, contributing to the strengthening of national seed production and food sovereignty.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and finalize tender specifications for agricultural machinery and related equipment.
• Conduct technical evaluations of bids, assessing compliance with functional, performance and sustainability criteria.
• Coordinate with LARI staff and UNDP procurement units to ensure alignment with UN procurement guidelines.
• Prepare recommendation reports and support decision‑making on award of contracts.
• Provide capacity‑building inputs to LARI personnel on tendering processes and technical assessment methods.

Required profile

• University degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Proven experience in tender development and technical evaluation of agricultural machinery.
• Familiarity with UN or international procurement regulations.
• Experience working in Lebanon or comparable contexts is preferred.
• Strong analytical, report‑writing and communication skills.
