Staff Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting and advisory team. The role involves maintaining accurate client accounting records, performing monthly close procedures, preparing financial statements, and supporting our CFO and tax teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly bookkeeping and accounting for assigned clients, including reviewing and categorizing bank and credit‑card transactions.
• Execute monthly and year‑end closing procedures, prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and post adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank, credit‑card, payroll, fixed‑asset schedules, loans, equity accounts and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable/payable.
• Communicate with clients to obtain missing information, address accounting questions, and prepare supporting documentation for the tax team.
• Assist the CFO and advisory team with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (preferred).
• Strong understanding of GAAP, debits, credits, journal entries, accruals and financial statements.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines with high accuracy.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (strongly preferred).
• Microsoft Excel.
