Senior Software Developer – Core Banking (AS400)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to design, maintain and support our core banking applications on the IBM i (AS400) platform. The role focuses on payment‑system modules such as SWIFT, IPCSM and RTGS, ensuring reliable integration with external services and high‑availability production support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and support core banking solutions running on IBM i.
• Perform full‑life‑cycle activities: analysis, design, coding, testing and production support.
• Implement and manage inbound/outbound interfaces, APIs and middleware for seamless system communication.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimise system performance.
• Prepare and keep technical documentation, including system designs, integration flows and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in system enhancements, incident resolution and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing on AS400/IBM i platforms.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; French or Spanish a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within the EST time zone.

Required skills

• COBOL/400, CL, CMD and SQL development on AS400.
• Strong knowledge of banking payment systems (SWIFT, IPCSM, RTGS).
• Experience with APIs, middleware and integration techniques.
• Familiarity with Java development (optional).
