Senior IT Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation and maintenance of Hippo Visor’s IT infrastructure. The role involves ensuring system reliability, security and performance while supporting internal teams and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
• Configure and oversee network components including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and wireless networks.
• Monitor system health, performance and availability, proactively resolving incidents.
• Provide advanced technical support and act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Administer endpoint devices, user accounts, permissions and access controls.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices, patch management, backup strategies and disaster recovery.
• Support cloud‑based and hybrid infrastructure services.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
• Collaborate with software development teams on development, testing and deployment environments.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, asset inventory and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in IT systems administration, infrastructure or enterprise IT.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience in a software development or technology‑driven environment is preferred.

Required skills

• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, routing & switching, firewall administration.
• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure (preferred), VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Backup & disaster recovery, endpoint management and security tools (Microsoft Defender, MFA).
• Scripting & automation with PowerShell and basic Python.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Git and ticketing systems such as Jira.
