Senior Automation-Digitalization Engineer

About the role

Sigma Cylinders is looking for a Senior Automation‑Digitalization Engineer to drive the transformation of its LPG cylinder manufacturing plant into a Smart Factory. You will lead end‑to‑end automation projects, integrate advanced controls and data platforms, and ensure real‑time visibility of production performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade of legacy machinery to Smart Factory standards, improving productivity and quality control.
• Develop and implement PLC logic (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider) for new and retrofitted equipment.
• Design scalable controls and network architecture, including industrial networks, edge connectivity, and data historian integration.
• Configure and tune VFDs and servomotors to stabilise cycle time and repeatability.
• Create and maintain SCADA/HMI screens, alarms, trends and dashboards for operational insight.
• Implement industrial communication protocols such as MQTT and Modbus for reliable data exchange.
• Specify, install and validate sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, displacement) to ensure accurate process measurement.
• Lead commissioning activities, including FAT/SAT, start‑up and stabilisation plans.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement automation improvements to reduce downtime and cycle time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation and digitalization.
• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, maintainability and lifecycle considerations for control systems.
