Qualitative Enumerator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an experienced Qualitative Enumerator to support a strategic internal evaluation of the SPEAC protection project in Lebanon. The consultant will conduct key informant interviews (KIIs) and handle transcription, translation, and data entry to ensure high‑quality qualitative data for the evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Attend a briefing on evaluation objectives, interview tools, sampling list, and data‑entry templates.
• Conduct semi‑structured KIIs in Arabic or English with IRC staff, external stakeholders, and beneficiaries as assigned.
• Obtain informed consent, record interviews where permitted, and take structured notes.
• Transcribe interviews, translate into English when needed, and anonymize personal identifiers.
• Enter qualitative data into predefined templates, organized by evaluation question and respondent type, and perform basic data cleaning and quality checks.
• Securely hand over all recordings, consent forms, and final datasets to IRC.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting qualitative data collection (KIIs and/or focus groups), preferably in humanitarian or protection contexts.
• Demonstrated ability in transcription, translation, and qualitative data entry with strong attention to accuracy.
• Full professional fluency in Arabic and English, capable of faithful translation between the two languages.
