French Language Instructor

About the role

The U.S. Embassy in Beirut is seeking a qualified French Language Instructor to deliver high‑quality French classes to adult embassy staff. The role can be full‑time or part‑time, following the embassy’s schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 1‑hour French language sessions covering speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Prepare lesson plans, handouts, exercises, and classroom materials tailored to adult learners.
• Adjust instruction to match each student’s proficiency level and professional needs.
• Track attendance, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate with the Post Language Officer as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of full‑time or 4 years part‑time experience teaching French.
• Experience teaching French to non‑native adult learners.
• Strong command of French grammar and all language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing).
• Ability to design lesson plans and classroom materials.
• Preferred experience with DELF, TCF, or similar language certification programs.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to support learners at varying levels.
