Engineer – U.S. Code Specialist (Florida & Miami)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineer with deep knowledge of U.S. engineering codes, especially Florida Building Code and Miami‑Dade County requirements. The successful candidate will support design, review, and development of engineering projects, ensuring full compliance with local and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and evaluate engineering plans, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure designs meet U.S. engineering standards and Florida Building Codes, including High‑Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) provisions.
• Review structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, or other discipline documentation as applicable.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify code compliance issues and propose technical solutions.
• Assist with permitting, respond to plan‑review comments, and handle regulatory requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis when required.
• Review construction documents for consistency with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Stay current with changes to Florida and Miami‑Dade codes and regulations.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and project records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience with U.S. engineering codes and standards.
• Proven experience with Florida Building Code and/or Miami‑Dade County requirements.
• Experience on Miami/Fort Lauderdale/South Florida projects is highly preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
