About the role
The Clearing Accountant is responsible for processing supplier payable vouchers and clearance invoices, ensuring that all entries are accurately reflected in the accounting books. This role supports the finance team by handling clearing agent invoices, marine insurance documentation, and month‑end reconciliations.
Key responsibilities
- Check clearing agent invoices and prepare vouchers to affect the general ledger correctly.
- Reconcile and analyse accrual cost accounts to maintain accurate balances and actual margins.
- Reconcile clearing agent accounts to ensure balances match external statements.
- Prepare marine insurance letters for shipments and maintain marine insurance account statements.
- Enter supplier invoices in the JDE system, match them with purchase orders, and clear receipt‑not‑voucher (RNV) accounts.
- Ensure all RNV balances are zero at month‑end.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 0–1 years of accounting experience.
- Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Excel.
