Chief Accountant – Full‑time, On‑site in Lebanon

About the role

Sawaya Group, a leading cosmetics company operating in Lebanon and the wider Middle East, is seeking a Chief Accountant to join its finance team on‑site. The role involves overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic guidance to support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial transactions, including receivables, payables, and payroll processing.
• Prepare and present financial statements such as balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and cash flow reports.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning.
• Ensure compliance with Lebanese MOF, CNSS regulations and other legal requirements.
• Coordinate external audits, provide required documentation, and address auditor inquiries.
• Maintain the general ledger, subsidiary accounts, and perform regular reconciliations.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, establishing SOPs and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably as a Chief Accountant.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in audit or tax services and familiarity with retail/wholesale environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency with ERP accounting systems.
• Understanding of MOF and CNSS regulatory documentation.
