Technical Lead – Field Service Management Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Lead to own and evolve our core Field Service Management platform. This role will transition development from an outsourced team to an internal, high‑performing engineering function while building scalable systems that support rapid operational growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technical direction, architecture, and roadmap for the Field Service Management platform.
• Lead the handover from the outsourced development team and ensure a smooth internal transition.
• Review the existing codebase, address technical debt, and design improvements.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Develop and evolve REST APIs with future readiness for GraphQL.
• Architect modular or micro‑services‑based systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• Optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexes for high performance.
• Implement asynchronous processing (queues, background jobs, workers).
• Manage integrations with internal tools, third‑party APIs, and webhooks.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers (React/Next.js) and stakeholders.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor and lead an internal development team as the function expands.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, with senior‑level full‑stack or tech‑lead responsibilities.
• Strong background in backend engineering and system architecture.
• Proven ability to design and maintain complex, scalable platforms.
