Sous Chef

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality Mediterranean and Lebanese dishes in a busy bistro environment. The role involves maintaining culinary standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring smooth service during peak periods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing Mediterranean and Lebanese menus.
• Supervise and coach line cooks, ensuring consistent food quality and presentation.
• Organise workflow, coordinate multiple orders, and manage kitchen stations efficiently.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
• Monitor inventory, control portion sizes, and support cost‑control initiatives.
• Collaborate with front‑of‑house teams to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a bistro or similar restaurant setting, preferably as a Sous Chef or senior line cook.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising kitchen staff.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining consistency and high quality.
• Effective communication skills for close collaboration with the Head Chef and service teams.
