Senior UX Designer - Digital Banking

About the role

A fast-paced, Agile delivery squad is looking for a Senior UX Designer to build intuitive digital banking experiences across web and mobile. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that combines strong UX expertise with a consultative approach: you will work directly with stakeholders to understand their goals, guide design decisions and balance user needs with business priorities and technical feasibility. You will partner with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Developers and Project Managers from discovery to launch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions and design workshops with client stakeholders to understand business goals, user needs and functional requirements.
• Advise clients on UX best practices and banking journeys, framing recommendations around usability, business value and implementation effort.
• Create user journeys, flowcharts, information architecture, wireframes and interactive Figma prototypes for web and mobile banking.
• Use the client's design system, UI kits and baseline banking journeys to keep things consistent and efficient.
• Prioritise reusable components and out-of-the-box capabilities, explaining the value and implications of each approach.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Front-End Developers, and take part in backlog refinement, sprint planning and design reviews.
• Prepare detailed design handoffs, support developers during implementation and conduct design QA.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior UX Designer delivering complex digital products, with a strong portfolio.
• Experience in user journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design, wireframing and prototyping.
• Experience leading discovery sessions, workshops and presentations to client stakeholders, and challenging assumptions constructively.
• Ability to balance user needs, business goals and technical feasibility, ideally in financial services or FinTech, and ideally in a consultancy or client-facing delivery environment.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, Developers and Project Managers.

Required skills

• Highly proficient in Figma, including variables, nested components, auto layout and interactive prototyping.
• Strong experience with design systems and component reuse.
• Jira and Confluence for delivery coordination and documentation.
• Solid understanding of HTML/CSS, responsive breakpoints and component lifecycles.
